"It's Too Late" by Carole King This week i chose to write about Carole King, and her song "It is Too Late."  Carole King is a female singer and songwriter, she was born in 1942, and started her music career in the 60s. She is famous for stapeling the idea that songwriters should preform their own  stuff. At this time it was still normal that songwriters sold their song to other artists, instead of writing and singing their own songs.  In 1971 did she release the single "It's Too late." The song became super famous and it was #1 for 5 weeks, the song has also been the #1 record 15 times, in 6 years. I really liked the song, Carole King has a really nice voice, and the background music is very harmonic. The 70s is often referred to as the me decade,  we have two main groups in music, its music for teens and music for the boomers. Nostalgia is also really important in the music industry, the 60s music died with The Beatels, Jimi Hendrix and etc. We a...

Like a Rolling Stone" Bob Dylan For this weeks blog I wanted to write about "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan. This is a very famous and well known song that I have heard many times before. It did actually peak as number two in the U.S in 2004 and 2011, and is listed as one of the top 500 songs of all time, by Rolling Stone. The song has also been covered by many other famous artists later, like Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Green Day. The song was released in 1965 by Columbia records. "Like a rolling Stone" is one of Bob Dylan's best known songs. He was born in 1941, but did not become famous before the early 60's. His songs became anthems for the civil rights and anti war movements. The song is 6 minutes long, and has a very heavy electric sound. Columbia records did not want to release the song, but they did it anyways. the song was very personal to Bob Dylan, he wrote it after he came back from tour in England, and he was very unhappy wit...

Be My Baby - The Ronettes I chose to write about "Be My Baby" by The Ronettes for this weeks listening blog. I really liked the song, I have heard this song many times before. Even if it is an old song I think a lot of people my age have heard this song many times before. The song was released in 1963 by an american girl group (Veronica Bennet, Estelle Bennet, Nedra Talley) all from New York. The girls had been singing together since they were teenagers, they were first known as "the darling sisters" but when they got signed by Philles Record they changed their name to "the ronettes." The song "Be my Baby" is their most famous song, and it is considered one of the best song of the 60s. The song was also included in the Grammy hall of fame.  The song is up tempo, and fun. Veronica, Estelle, and Nedra all do a really good job singing together. Their voices harmonize very good, and it is hard to hear that there are several people singing at the sam...

Blogg 5 - La Bamba by Ritchie Valens. For this weeks Blog I picked "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens, the song was released in 1958, and it soon became a hit in the US. The song is considered one of the early rock and rolls best known songs. When Ritchie wrote this song, he was very inspired by a Mexican folk song. he took the song and transformed it into a rock n roll song. He is considered the creator of the chicano rock movement.  Ritchie Valens music career was very short, he died when he was 17 in a plane accident, only eight months after he released "La Bamba."I have heard this song many times before, I do not know where, but probably from movies and TV shows. I liked the song, it is a fun song and it makes me in a good mood. It has a very quick tempo to it, and he uses a guitar to play the song.  He also sings in Spanish, this fits the song really good. He mixes the Spanish singing with the rock n roll, this makes the song very different from all other rock music...

"Taking a Chance on Love"  Benny Goodman I choose "Taking a Chance on Love" by Benny Goodman. It is preformed by Benny Goodman and his orchestra and the artist is Helen Forrest. benny Goodman was a bandleader as well as a composer and clarinetist. When he was 14 he quit school to join the American Federation of Musicians. "Taking a Chance on Love"  was published in 1943 during World War 2 and it is from the swing era. he recorded the song in 1940, however he did not release the song before 1943, in the movie Cabin in the Sky. His song soon became very popular and reached the top of the charts for 14 weeks. I really liked the song, I feel like I have heard the song before, but i do not know where. The song gives me very old hollywood vibes, it reminds me of something you would hear in movies, or play at big fancy events. It makes me in a good mood, and i can picture people dancing  and having a good time to this song.  Helen forrest voice does also fit th...
